Working EnvironmentAbstract: This study investigates the relationships between working environment and employees’ engagement using the Royal Thai Police Technology Crime Suppression Division (TCSD) as a case. Survey questionnaires were used to collect data from the police officers at TCSD. One-way ANOVA and multiple Regressions were used to analyze data and to test hypotheses.
The findings from this research indicated that there is a significant relationship between the working environment and attitudes of the police officer, employee attitudes and job satisfaction, and between attitudes and personal performance. The findings also revealed that the officers most concern on good relationships with supervisors and colleagues. They agreed that care from supervisors and superiors have most influence on their attitude toward working environment. The officers are high satisfied with working hours and agreed that relationship with colleagues and supervisors lead them to job satisfaction. The findings also indicated that the officers at TCSD are proactive officers since the most important factor for them is to be ready for the job and assignment. Finally, they agreed that their success in high performance come from good relationships among co-workers and care from supervisors and well equipment and tools, as a result, the respondent officers are willing to remain working at TCSD and do not want to be transferred out of the division.

International SchoolsAbstract: The underlying premise of this paper is that the education landscape has changed in recent times and is undergoing even more dramatic changes. These changes include, but are not limited to, globalisation, evolving national curricula, the need for a more global education, attracting and retaining value-adding faculty members and the increased competition to attract students. Another significant hurdle that schools need to deal with is a shrinking pool of available teachers. Enrolment by young people into teacher education degrees are falling and further exacerbating the situation is the fact that many existing Baby Boomer aged teachers are retiring from teaching.
These changes in the teaching landscape are all having an impact on the ways schools conduct business, and is particularly true in the international school setting. Added to this, some of the historical attractions such as salary, benefits and the adventure of travel may not have the same currency or value that they once enjoyed. A significant proportion of teachers in international schools are less than 40 years old and by various learned and accepted definitions, fall into the generational category of millennials. This cohort, the so-called millennial, has been the focus of some research of late, and initial findings would indicate that there are a lot of unknowns and misconceptions surrounding millennials, their expectations, their world view, and how to best utilise them in the workforce.
Following these lines of inquiry, it is believed that identifying some of these potential generational differences in needs and wants will assist schools in developing sustainable strategies for the attraction, development and retention of young teachers, which in turn will create increased efficiency and competitive advantage.Curricular : BBA/MBA/PhDM Record link: http://libsearch.siu.ac.th/siu/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=27928 SIU Thesis. Tourism spaceAbstract: This paper proposes a management model call ‘State as Co-Producer in the realm of tourism space: theoretical framework of TIME-SPACE & SELF’. This approach will contribute to the state’s policy and planning for tourism development. While traditional state’s role acts as a typical regulator or basic state developer e.g., building fundamental infrastructure and promoting the destination brand image, this paper proposes state in a new set of paradigm shift in more practical policy and planning, proactive-state as a co-stage producer. While the destination should not be viewed as blank space and the government-state’s job is to fill up this empty space by merely building basic infrastructures, instead we argue and suggest state’s role as proactive ‘co-stage producer’ to script, to theme, to nationalize, and to standardize the spaces as experiential stage or dramatized theater.
The research methodology is constructed from a set of serial researches of data collections as a larger doctoral research project. As tourism industry involves different and fragmented stakeholders, the researches are conducted with different interest groups from various tourism bodies: government, academic institutions, service providers (small-boutique hotel, spa service, tour operator, restaurant), and also tourists with different research questions for different sample.
In the finding drawn from the empirical cases in Thailand where state’s role has been co-producing the new tourism space through the time - space commodification and performing the frontstage and backstage management under the state’s policies and planning and create the new flow of consumption and production for new spaces. Simultaneously the tourist consumes space and time through their own five sensory touches. In this research the postmodern tourist becomes central study which plays role as new middle income consumer and quest for new tourism space of authenticity and modernity.
This paper put together these variable and construct the interrelationship pattern where ‘Time to be commodified’, ‘Space to be consumed’, and ‘Self to be experienced’ create the new flow of production and consumption within the new tourism space.Curricular : BBA/MBA/PhDM Record link: http://libsearch.siu.ac.th/siu/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=26633 SIU Thesis.
