The purpose of this paper is to find whether the motivational factors such as recognition, compensation and reward, organization culture, quality of work life, and growth and development motivate the employees of the IT companies in the Kathmandu Valley as well as examine the relationship between those factors with employee retention.
In order to answer these questions, a primary data survey was conducted on 120 respondents working at 5 different IT companies in the Kathmandu Valley. The data were analyzed using statistical tools such as Descriptive analysis, Cronbach Alpha test, Cross Tabulation, Chi-Square test, Correlation analysis and Regression analysis.
From the analysis, it was concluded that there is a very close association and relationship between the motivational factors used as independent variables (recognition, compensation and reward, organization culture, quality of work life, growth and development) with the dependent variable, i.e. employee retention.Curricular : BBA/MBA Record link: http://libsearch.siu.ac.th/siu/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=27531 SIU IS. Organizational successAbstract: Motivation has always been one of the most important tools of human resource management. Organizations use various motivational policies and practices to encourage employees to perform in the most effective way to lead the organization towards success. For this reason, the present research study was carried out to identify how and up to which extend the motivational practices helps in the retaining the employees in telecom sector of Nepal, as from the past few years the telecom industry experience most threatening period regarding employee retention. The purpose of this paper is to find which motivational factor are considered to be most important and which are considered to be least important by most of the employees of telecom sector. This paper also helps in examining the significant relationship between the various factors and employee retention and why Nepalese organizations had not been able to retain their employees for longer term.
The research is quantitative in nature and totally based on the questionnaire distributed to the sample of 202 respondents of telecom sectors from Nepal Telecom, Ncell and Hello Nepal in Kathmandu as these companies are holding 70-80% market share of Nepalese Telecom Industry. Primary data was used mostly in the research and we also used secondary data from different research papers. The purposed research hypotheses were tested through various statistical analyses. Respondents were furthermore asked to rank ten determining factors on the basis of their importance. The findings indicated that good remuneration, job security and interesting job were the most important factors for most of all employees in telecom office. Interestingly, the lowest ranked factors were growth opportunities and profitability of organization. This also gives reference to the managers and HR professionals, the changing perception of employees towards the working culture.
The results provide suggestions to the organization about which determining factor plays more important and which plays less. Not always, but a telecom office can take this research paper a reference to focus on motivational practices to retain employees. Therefore, the most efficient approach to their motivation should not be based either solely on intrinsic motivators or extrinsic motivator. Strategies and implications that can help Telecom sector of Nepal in retaining their employees have also been discussed. Based on the factors that are the most important for employees; the organization can meet the challenge of attracting, motivating and retaining them. A company should always bring on new and challenging strategies and adopt it time and again to
appeal the employees and retain them. Therefore, from the research we can conclude that, in context of Nepal, people are still motivated by the remuneration and benefit the most. The working culture has drastically changed but still people need job security and financial security as their primary need. The result also reveals the significant relationship of motivational practices with employee retention. In other words, the independent variables have a direct and positive impact on dependent variable which means the enhancement of one independent variable causes the enhancement in the employee retention which is the dependent variable. However, with the changing need of workforce, people have started demanding for interesting jobs as they become monotonous doing the same work again and again, So, companies especially in telecommunication sector have to develop a better and effective strategy to motivate the employees keeping in consideration the motivational factors. However, the accuracy of the results may be influenced by biases. The study is exclusive of any intervening or moderating variables. The response from participants may be lower than expected, which may interfere with
their willingness to participate.Curricular : BBA/MBA Record link: http://libsearch.siu.ac.th/siu/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=27399 SIU IS. Regression AnalysisAbstract: Employee satisfaction has been one of the crucial factors in organizational performance. Diversities in human resources have added challenges to the managers. Thus, Managers required to identify the determinants of employee satisfaction and estimate their impact on organizational performance.
The purpose of this study is to explore the link between employee satisfaction and organizational performance and to determine if there is an empirically provable relationship between these two factors, and the intensity of this relationship. Empirical research was conducted on a research sample of 300 employees of NIC Asia ,among 1595 total population size. A structure questionnaire was used for data collection. The present researcher proposes convenience sampling technique to execute the overall sampling for the purpose of primary data collection. Both primary and secondary data were used for the research. Similarly, regression and correlation had been used to show the close linkage between employee satisfaction and organization performance.
Data was collected through self administered questionnaires that included varieties of questions such as single response questions and Likert scale questions. Data collected through the questionnaire was analyzed statistically by using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). It was then summarized using tables.
The results of this study show the existence of a clear link between employee’s job satisfaction and organizational performance in both directions. Detailed analysis showed that the connection between employee satisfaction and organizational performance is stronger than the connection between organizational performance and employee satisfaction. It could be stated that employee satisfaction determines organizational performance, rather than organizational performance determining job satisfaction.
Accordingly, this thesis has indeed helped the present researcher to learn more about the importance of employee satisfaction to any organization to lead in success mainly concerning towards service organization.Curricular : BBA/MBA Record link: http://libsearch.siu.ac.th/siu/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=27515 SIU IS. Its increasing acceptance has inspired this evaluation study to be conducted to make clear the realistic condition of the performance of the EP department. Assessments of every stakeholder were respectfully treated independently then were integrated so as to arrive at a sense of balance in representing the overall makeup of the whole EP department. Pre-determined factors were used as subject of analysis.
Being a young organization, disputes arise with its performance. There’s an apparent dilemma with how different mechanisms of communication between and among stakeholders affects its performance as a whole. Stakeholder engagement and involvement instigates tight spot. There is a setback with stakeholders’ commitment in supporting the EP department to arrive at a favorable performance.
This study utilized a mixed method approach and decided to evaluate the performance of an EP department in a Thai secondary public school. The evaluation process shed light on the realistic condition of the performance of the EP department highlighting how it is affected by functional communication, stakeholders’ participation, and stakeholders’ commitment in supporting the EP department.
The study was able to complement the concept of the Strategic Constituency Approach which was later suggested to merge the concept of “Part-Whole Science” in evaluating organizational performance and in examining how contingency factors influence the organization’s performance.

Business model innovations to build non-profit art organizations to respond to the current precarious living environment. More specifically, this paper proposes a new framework for innovation for nonprofit arts organizations called business model innovation for nonprofit arts organizations. The model is the result of doctoral research that includes several art institutions and non-profit art organizations in the United States, France, and China. Raising the revenue of nonprofit art institutions is crucial, and no art institution is exceptional, there is little literature in the study of actual fundraising strategies for art institutions, and research that focuses primarily on the ethics of revenue sources rather than best practices in other disciplines has always been problematic because the theory it tries to apply does not always apply. There is also little research on the dynamics of local income generation, so there is an urgent need for practical research on this topic, such as data from comparative analysis of sources of income. For this study, data were collected from art institutions such as Nature and the Arts Organization (USA), IMAJ-UNESCO Art Center (France), CGK-Contemporary Art Gallery Kunming, etc. Semi-structured interviews and revenue records of key employees of three representative arts organizations were analyzed using both qualitative and quantitative methods.
Several key findings highlight business model innovation and the direct and indirect benefits of business external partners, Value innovation, nonprofit art organization boundary collaboration is key to revenue and sustainability, and value identification also influences innovation and revenue generation. This study reinforces our knowledge of the economics of non-profit arts organizations. I believe that the sustainability of non-profit arts organizations needs to be combined with their own practices and cultural project innovations. Finally, I make some recommendations that organizational and technological innovation and value creation innovation can improve economic, market, and social performance, which will facilitate the practice and sustainable development of future non-profit arts organizations.Curricular : BBA/GE/MBA/PhDM Record link: http://libsearch.siu.ac.th/siu/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=28459 SIU Thesis. Entrepreneurial orientation and innovation orientationAbstract: Entrepreneurial Marketing has been applied to address the un-linear, unconventional and un-seen market situation which has been created because of competition, technological advancement and change of customers’ needs. Past studies have shown that entrepreneurial marketing has greater contribution on business performance in terms of their profitability, growth and satisfaction. In this background, the effect of entrepreneurial marketing on MSME (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise) performance in six districts of Nepal has been carried out by testing four hypotheses and twelve sub-hypotheses. A structured questionnaire to 403 entrepreneurs and 100 customers, and in-depth interview to 39 experienced individuals of government, entrepreneurs and consumers was used to collect quantitative and qualitative data.
According to Chi-square test, four hypotheses relating to customer orientation, market orientation, entrepreneurial orientation and innovation orientation have significant relationship with performance of MSMEs in Nepal. Regression analysis shows that MSME performance is influenced by entrepreneurial marketing with 45 percent impact and ANOVA test also shows the similar types of significance relationship. Twenty-eight statements that are related to entrepreneurial marketing, out of thirty-six statements, are identified as significant elements of MSME performance by employing the exploratory factor analysis and these are classified in five factors. On the support of qualitative analysis, five-dimensional entrepreneurial marketing model of MSME performance is proposed. Influence orientation is newly added component on four components (customer, market, entrepreneurial and innovation orientation) of existing model.Curricular : BBA/MBA/PhDM Record link: http://libsearch.siu.ac.th/siu/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=27913 SIU Thesis.
