RiskAbstract: Commercial banks are exposed to high risk loans. The higher is the accumulation of unpaid loans implying that these loan losses have produced lower returns to many commercial banks. Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (1999) asserts that loans are the largest and most obvious source of credit risk, while other are found on the various
activities that the bank involved itself with. The indicators to measure the credit risk management: capital adequacy ratio (CAR) and non-performing loans ratio (NPLR), which are the main indicators used to assess the soundness of the banking system (Bhawani and Bhanumurthy, 2012). Likely, Kurawa and Garba (2014) have pointed out
the credit risk management (CRM) indicators such as: non-performing loan ratio rate (NPLR), cost per loan assets (CLA), and capital adequacy ratio (CAR) which influence banks' profitability (ROA). However, every bank needs to identify measure, monitor and
control credit risk and also determining how credit risks could be lowered. This means that a bank should hold adequate capital, control the non-performing loan and maintain the appropriate cost per loan assets.
The main aim of this study is to evaluate the relationship between credit risk management and bank performance. The expectancy is good credit risk management would lead to better performance and vice versa, while bad credit management would lead to poor and bad performance and vice versa. The specific objectives of this study are as follows (a) To explain how Credit risk impact on Bank performance. (b)To determine the impact of non-performing loans, capital adequacy ratio, cost per loan assets, cash reserve ratio and bank size on Bank performance of the Nepalese commercial banks. (c) To identify the factors influencing Bank performance in commercial banks of Nepal. (d) To analyze the structure and pattern of credit management variables and Bank performance of Nepalese commercial banks.
This study has examined the effect of credit risk on performance of Nepalese commercial banks. The descriptive and causal comparative research designs have been adopted for the study. The pooled data of 14 commercial banks for the period 2008 to 2015
have been analyzed using regression model. The regression results revealed that 'nonperforming loan ratio' has negative effect on bank performance whereas 'cost per loan assets' has positive effect on bank performance. In addition to credit risk indicators, bank size has positive effect on bank performance. Capital adequacy ratio and cash reserve are not considered as the influencing variables on bank performance. This study concludes that there is significant relationship between bank performance and credit risk indicators.
The major conclusion of the study has found the significant relationship between bank performance and credit risk indicators. The study concludes that 'non-performing loan ratio' has negative effect on bank performance whereas 'cost per loan assets' has positive effect on bank performance. The positive coefficient of cost per loan assets
indicates the bank's efficiency in distributing loans to customers and collecting higher level of interest revenue as compare to interest expense and other operating costs. Cost per loan assets is considered to be the influencing variable to enhance banks' performance. In
addition to credit risk indicators, bank performance is also affected by its size. As a whole, Nepalese commercial banks have poor credit risk management. Thus, these banks need to follow prudent credit risk management and safeguarding the assets of the banks and protect the interests of the stakeholders.Curricular : BBA/MBA Record link: http://libsearch.siu.ac.th/siu/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=27411 SIU IS. Multivariate RegressionAbstract: Workforce diversity is considered to be a major challenge that has easily turned into a losing situation for all involved leading to the discouragement of employees consequently affecting employee performance in many organizations. Many people believe that workforce diversity is essential for employee performance. In this study, workforce diversity is defined as a similarities and differences among employees in terms of age, cultural background, race, religion, gender, and sexual orientation. These similarities and differences formed five different independent variables (i.e. age group, gender, cultural diversity, educational background and work experience) of this study which was considered to the most critical variables in the context of Nepal.
The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of workforce diversity on employee performance of Nepal. Convenient sampling technique was used to get respondents within the Telecom companies of Nepal. 200 employees i.e. 100 employees each from two major Telecom companies (NTC and NCELL) were targeted for data collection. Data was collected through self-administered questionnaires that included varieties of questions such as single response questions and Likert scale questions. Data collected through the questionnaire was analyzed statistically by using the Software Package for Social Science (SPSS). It was then summarized using tables.
The summarized responses were used for examining the effect of each variable on employee performance. Chi-square analysis showed all the hypotheses were a good fit. Correlation Coefficient analysis showed a significant level of association between all other variables and employee performance except age group. Whereas, the multivariate regression analysis showed age and cultural diversity was insignificant. However, it became clear from the data analysis that workforce diversity is a well-accepted phenomenon at the Telecom companies of Nepal. For this study, various literatures were examined and reviewed to identify and investigate the relationship between workforce diversity and employee performance in which a gap existed since none of these studies was conducted in Telecom companies of Nepal.Curricular : BBA/MBA Record link: http://libsearch.siu.ac.th/siu/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=27516 SIU IS. Regression AnalysisAbstract: Employee satisfaction has been one of the crucial factors in organizational performance. Diversities in human resources have added challenges to the managers. Thus, Managers required to identify the determinants of employee satisfaction and estimate their impact on organizational performance.
The purpose of this study is to explore the link between employee satisfaction and organizational performance and to determine if there is an empirically provable relationship between these two factors, and the intensity of this relationship. Empirical research was conducted on a research sample of 300 employees of NIC Asia ,among 1595 total population size. A structure questionnaire was used for data collection. The present researcher proposes convenience sampling technique to execute the overall sampling for the purpose of primary data collection. Both primary and secondary data were used for the research. Similarly, regression and correlation had been used to show the close linkage between employee satisfaction and organization performance.
Data was collected through self administered questionnaires that included varieties of questions such as single response questions and Likert scale questions. Data collected through the questionnaire was analyzed statistically by using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). It was then summarized using tables.
The results of this study show the existence of a clear link between employee’s job satisfaction and organizational performance in both directions. Detailed analysis showed that the connection between employee satisfaction and organizational performance is stronger than the connection between organizational performance and employee satisfaction. It could be stated that employee satisfaction determines organizational performance, rather than organizational performance determining job satisfaction.
Accordingly, this thesis has indeed helped the present researcher to learn more about the importance of employee satisfaction to any organization to lead in success mainly concerning towards service organization.Curricular : BBA/MBA Record link: http://libsearch.siu.ac.th/siu/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=27515 SIU IS. Due to the price of gold no longer pegged to the dollar, the price began to change radically. Because the gold has both the goods attribute and the monetary attribute, its pricing mechanism is also different from ordinary commodities. Therefore, the price of gold has also become the focus of attention and research of scholars in the world. Since the plunge of the international gold price 2013, the gold price still does not back to the high position. With the changes of the international situation in recent years: Britain quit EU, Syria War, Trade war of USA and China. There has been one rising trend of the international gold price in the international gold market. Thus, it is meaningful to analyze the influence factors of the international gold price and predict the price trend in the future.
This paper firstly analyzes the various factors of the international gold price from the view of theory. Then the study mainly chooses five variables which are most related to the current situation to do empirical study. They are international crude oil price, US dollar index, EUR exchange rate, GBP exchange rate and Renminbi exchange rate. This paper selects the monthly data of them from 1998.01-2017.12 to do multiple linear regression analysis and set up regression model. According to the empirical study, the study finds some influence factors of the international gold price. In the end of paper, the study simply predicts the trend of the international gold price and provide some recommendations for investors, gold producers, gold merchants by combining the current actual situation with the results of empirical study.Curricular : BBA/MBA Record link: http://libsearch.siu.ac.th/siu/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=27772 SIU IS. Correlation and RegressionAbstract: The study examines the private schools impact of enterprise resource planning (ERP) variables on brand development in Private School of Kathmandu Valley. Case study research on enterprise systems in higher education organizations has shown that the challenges associated with implementing enterprise systems in higher education occur when unique organizational characteristics found in universities do not align with the standard characteristics built into the software programs. Based on such findings, the purpose of this study was to further explore the interaction between higher education organizations and enterprise systems during Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementations in order to gain insight into the effects of ERP implementations in higher education. The independent variable of ERP process, which was Services, Information technology, Smooth operation, Human Resources, marketing and sales had significant positive relationship with the dependent variables Brand development. The data also revealed that the software customizations, developed to account for unique statutory requirements, caused overwhelming implementation challenges during the enterprise software implementation and its impact on brand of the institution. [LCSH]Interest ratesKeywords: Initial Public Offering (IPO), Real Gross Domestic Product, Inflation, Interest rate, Stock Market Index, Remittance, Correlation and Multiple Regressions Abstract: The study examines the impact of macroeconomic variables on the Initial Public Offering (IPO) in Nepal during the period from 1993/94 to 2015/16. Applying the correlation and the multiple regressions, the study finds that among the multiple independent macroeconomic variables taken for analysis: real gross domestic product, inflation, interest rate, stock market index and remittance, only interest rate, stock market index and remittance affected the dependent variable IPO, which was proxy by Number of IPOs, Total IPO Proceeds raised, Average IPO Proceeds raised. Stock market index and remittance have a statistically significant positive relationship with the dependent variables IPO and all of its proxies. The Interest rate, on the other hand, has a negative statistically significant relationship with the dependent variables IPO and all of its proxies. The results show that the interest rate has a negative impact on the frequency of the IPO floatation and the IPO proceeds floated by firms, in the primary market. A growing secondary stock market activity, higher inflow of remittance in the economy and a falling interest rate in the market, influences more number of firms to go public with high issue amount.
