The research was conducted using a mixed method utilizing both quantitative and qualitative method. For the quantitative method a sample of 380 customers from four different star categorized hotels were taken from the capital of the country. Convenient sampling method was used for the study. The research study is completed using a blend of descriptive and comparative research design. Moreover, for the qualitative method a semi- structured interview was conducted among the senior marketing managers of selected 4 different hotels and the thematic analysis was done. The data collection instrument used in the research were the 5 point Likert scale questionnaires and the semi-structured interview. Correlation analysis and regression analysis was done to test the hypothesis. It was found that there was positive significant relationship between brand loyalty, brand image and perceived quality, and customer based brand equity. However, brand awareness did not show significant causal relationship with customer based brand equity. It was also found that all the sample hotels have been following various branding activities and campaigns like mass media promotion, specialized agencies, partnering up, providing discounts and value-added promotional activities, to promote their brand in the market. Entrepreneurial orientation and innovation orientationAbstract: Entrepreneurial Marketing has been applied to address the un-linear, unconventional and un-seen market situation which has been created because of competition, technological advancement and change of customers’ needs. Past studies have shown that entrepreneurial marketing has greater contribution on business performance in terms of their profitability, growth and satisfaction. In this background, the effect of entrepreneurial marketing on MSME (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise) performance in six districts of Nepal has been carried out by testing four hypotheses and twelve sub-hypotheses. A structured questionnaire to 403 entrepreneurs and 100 customers, and in-depth interview to 39 experienced individuals of government, entrepreneurs and consumers was used to collect quantitative and qualitative data.
According to Chi-square test, four hypotheses relating to customer orientation, market orientation, entrepreneurial orientation and innovation orientation have significant relationship with performance of MSMEs in Nepal. Regression analysis shows that MSME performance is influenced by entrepreneurial marketing with 45 percent impact and ANOVA test also shows the similar types of significance relationship. Twenty-eight statements that are related to entrepreneurial marketing, out of thirty-six statements, are identified as significant elements of MSME performance by employing the exploratory factor analysis and these are classified in five factors. On the support of qualitative analysis, five-dimensional entrepreneurial marketing model of MSME performance is proposed. Influence orientation is newly added component on four components (customer, market, entrepreneurial and innovation orientation) of existing model.Curricular : BBA/MBA/PhDM Record link: http://libsearch.siu.ac.th/siu/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=27913 SIU Thesis. The concept of knowing the consumer purchase decision while purchasing beer brands in Nepal is a new concept and to address the gap the paper analyzes the factors which have relationship with the consumers more focused and priorities factors for purchasing particular beer brands in Nepal. It also examines the level of impact of the independent variables: brand awareness, brand loyalty, perceived quality and brand association on the dependent variable: consumer purchase decision. The research was conducted using only quantitative method. While, for the quantitative method a sample of 400 customers from four different channels i.e. Restaurants, clubs, Hotels and Local Bhatti’s from Kathmandu, Nepal. While, five point likert scale questionnaires were conducted for data collection, the collected data were analyzed using correlation and regression analysis apart from thematic analysis. The paper found a positive significant relationship between the independent variables: brand awareness, perceived quality and brand association, and the dependent variable consumer purchase decision. Whereas, brand loyalty had a positive but not significant causal relation with consumer purchase decision for any particular beer brands. Further, branding activities, campaigns to promote beer brands through mass media and ad agencies, partnering up with specialized agencies, providing discounts and value-added promotional activities etc. were essential to promote the beer brands of the beer companies and attracts the consumers towards to buy their particular beer brands. To sum up, all the elements of brand are equally important for understanding the consumer decision making. [LCSH]opiumKeywords: Crop substitution, drugs eradication, Kachin State, Myanmar, opium Abstract: This thesis uses a qualitative, mixed methods approach to investigation the management of drugs eradication in Kachin State in northern Myanmar and the possibility for substituting opium growth for cash crops such as Inca Inchi peanuts.
Key informant interviewing and participant observation were instrument of ethnographic research that were combined with personal interviewing with semi-structured interview agendas as a means of collecting data in a process that began many years ago and has incorporated interactions and interviews with hundreds of different people, along with the more structured research approach embarked upon specifically for this thesis.
It was found that the use of drugs in Kachin State now is so prevalent and pervasive that it is treated as an inevitable and unavoidable part of life in everyday. It has spread to nearly every sector of society. Many people in dangerous or difficult jobs are given drugs as part of their salary so that it is easier for them to survive the monotony and risk. When people try to tackle the drugs usage, such as religious groups, then they tend to consider it to be a moral choice and the drug takers should be treated accordingly.
This kind of war on drugs thinking does not work very well. In the case of crop substitution, this might be possible in terms of agriculture but to do so successfully would require peaceful relations, better infrastructure, a replacement distribution system and the creation of a suitable commercial centre such as a special economic zone for it to become feasible. Some suggestions are made concerning the nature of the organization that would be required to make this possible, if it is possible. Other implications are drawn and recommendations made.Curricular : BBA/MBA/PhDM Record link: http://libsearch.siu.ac.th/siu/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=27927 SIU Thesis. International SchoolsAbstract: The underlying premise of this paper is that the education landscape has changed in recent times and is undergoing even more dramatic changes. These changes include, but are not limited to, globalisation, evolving national curricula, the need for a more global education, attracting and retaining value-adding faculty members and the increased competition to attract students. Another significant hurdle that schools need to deal with is a shrinking pool of available teachers. Enrolment by young people into teacher education degrees are falling and further exacerbating the situation is the fact that many existing Baby Boomer aged teachers are retiring from teaching.
These changes in the teaching landscape are all having an impact on the ways schools conduct business, and is particularly true in the international school setting. Added to this, some of the historical attractions such as salary, benefits and the adventure of travel may not have the same currency or value that they once enjoyed. A significant proportion of teachers in international schools are less than 40 years old and by various learned and accepted definitions, fall into the generational category of millennials. This cohort, the so-called millennial, has been the focus of some research of late, and initial findings would indicate that there are a lot of unknowns and misconceptions surrounding millennials, their expectations, their world view, and how to best utilise them in the workforce.
Following these lines of inquiry, it is believed that identifying some of these potential generational differences in needs and wants will assist schools in developing sustainable strategies for the attraction, development and retention of young teachers, which in turn will create increased efficiency and competitive advantage.Curricular : BBA/MBA/PhDM Record link: http://libsearch.siu.ac.th/siu/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=27928 SIU Thesis. [LCSH]Internet of ThingsKeywords: Supply Community Network, Supply Community Agents (SCA), Flow Dimensions, Internet of Things (IoT), Social Internet of Things (SIoT) Abstract: Supply chain management (SCM) and its associated activities continue to evolve as new communication technologies and cooperative efforts emerge to facilitate system-wide process integration. The context within which SCs work, the technologies, and performance enhancement mechanisms has changed. Thus, linear based SCs have been challenged as firms look increasingly towards a networked SC approach to convey predominant performance.
The convergence of computing, embedded sensors and network technology ushered in the Internet of Things (IoT) as a means of delivering intelligent services. More recently, SIoT signaled the inevitable fusion of IoT with social structure phenomena, enabling formation of trust-based communities among the objects (SC agents) similar to that of social networks. Due to the relative newness of SIoT, it has yet to be establish a vehicle for its application. This study therefore, employs SIoT principles to what we term supply community network management (SCNM) a theoretical framework capable of dealing with present day market dynamics.
Our contribution is therefore, a new setting of social relationships between agents within SCNM mirroring possible interactions played out in the physical world where objects, autonomously sense each other, exchange information and interact within the SCNM mimicking the behavior of humans.Curricular : BBA/MBA/PhDM Record link: http://libsearch.siu.ac.th/siu/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=28540 SIU Thesis.
