automation systemAbstract: The research study is based on the investment decision of SMEs in automotive parts industry for flexible automation (soft) system. The study adopts a quantitative approach to identify factors of decision made towards soft automation. Based on detailed examination of literature, the research questionnaires were developed and by collecting quantitative data were used to investigate. The researcher uses free and face to face interview of top level managers both male and female.
The factors that influence which were determined were cost, output, labour and governmental to determine the change from hard to soft automation. The data gathered through questionnaires which were completed by investors and top level managers states that there are many factors like, labour, output and governmental factors that influence their decision making process when they wanted to invest in soft automation. Most of the SMEs focused on long term period and this is the main reason they did not consider the cost of soft automation. Governmental factor was one of the determining factors for investors since they were expecting some regulation and soft loan from the government owned bank. The ever increasing labour cost has led to investors to think about having low labour turnover. They wanted to invest in skilled labour but limit their number to decrease cost. By increasing period of production time and increasing soft automation use investors want to increase output to reduce cost per unit.
The main limitation of this research is that the primary data collected through face to face interview is only of top level manager’s perspectives about soft automation investment decision. If we could have both top level managers and investors perspective it would have given a clearer understanding of the process. The researcher begins in his research to identify the influencing factors which draws the investors to make decision in shifting or purchasing flexible (soft) automation. Then, he methodologically discusses his findings concluding his work with his finding comparing with what scholars says theoretically.Curricular : BBA/MBA/PhDM Record link: http://libsearch.siu.ac.th/siu/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=26663 SIU SS. ThailandAbstract: The Chinese government has been extending its influence through a variety of means in its current going out policy. Both hard and soft power systems have been deployed and prominent among the latter are the Confucius Institutes that have been opened in many countries around the world. These institutes are similar to the British Council or Goethe Institut in that they combine opportunities to learn the relevant language from native speakers with programmes to promote home country culture and different forms of interaction that people can have with it.
However, Confucius Institutes have attracted criticism in some countries because of the unwillingness of staff members to acknowledge issues relating to censorship and human rights in China, as well as because of specific historical incidents that have caused tension. In addition, questions have been raised about the quality of teaching and management at some institutes.
This research outlines the findings of a qualitative research project investigating the management of Confucius Institutes in Thailand. Interviewing took place in part during a period of strengthening Sino-Thai relations resulting from political and commercial reasons and a more prominent role for Chinese corporations in the Thai economy.
The study seeks to analyze the details behind the establishment of Confucius Institutes, their organizational mechanism, and their activities. The focus investigation in case of Thailand, with the aid of secondary desk research and primary qualitative research, aims to identify the reasons for this distinctive pattern and the international relationship it has with success of the project in strategic and operational terms from an organizational perspective.

CompetitivenessAbstract: Cambodia, like many other countries, fully realizes the importance of the country’s development, which directly contributes to people’s improvement of their families’ economy and their lives. Such the effective and consistent development of a country’s industries and infrastructures generally need the strong and recognizable policy and supports from their own governments. Telecommunications is considered a key as frontier leading factor for the infrastructure development. Foreign direct investment (FDI) must be reinforced and admired tremendously by investors.
Responding to development of a country. Therefore, this research investigates the perspectives of foreign investors and domestic users of Cambodia’s mobile telecommunications industry. To better understanding Cambodia for larger portrait, it is very worthwhile to include country’s history of after World War II in the literature.
At the time of research in 2012, there were 12 active players in Cambodia’s mobile telecommunications market. Competition in this sector was intense and highly visible, straightly resulted from the Country’s wide open strategy to welcome all investments without limitations.
Personal interviews were conducted with senior managers and executives of these companies to analyze and determine their professional though about business development and future prospects for the industry. It was found that revenues and profits were considered to be the most important indicators of business performance, while the relatively open policies the country has concerning foreign direct investment (FDI) means that investment decisions are quite easily made. In addition, 400 questionnaires were completed by users of different mobile telecommunications services in Cambodia, with samples drawn from the capital city Phnom Penh and the important provinces of Siem Reap, Battambang and Sihanoukville.
This survey aimed to discover consumer behavior with respect to mobile phone use and influences upon it. It was discovered that users considered area of coverage to be the most important factor, followed by charges and connectivity.Curricular : BBA/MBA/PhDM Record link: http://libsearch.siu.ac.th/siu/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=26625 SIU Thesis. Micro-Finance InstitutionsAbstract: The study has been done in the rural areas of the Janakpur as case study of the short term migration, livestock as an income generating activities and MFIs as a microloan provider in a socio-economic perspective. The study was done to compare the socio-economic situation with the short term migrant and non-migrant, MFIs borrowers and non-borrowers, perspective of rearing livestock in poor rural area in Janakpur. It is found that most of the family or at least the one or more family members have migrated in search of job out of the village either in nearby town, city and boarder area with India and the income through migrating is the dependable source of their livelihood, paying back the debt they obeyed. There is little or none change has been seen in the migrants’ households as they spent most of their earning on the consumption purposes, payback debt, on medical expenses, building houses. Few of them have invested their saving on income generating activities: the cash crops, livestock and small scale of instant cash businesses. It can be seen that livestock is a common asset amongst households across all expenditure. The majority of households, therefore, have some motives to keep livestock, either as a risk-coping or income-enhancing strategy. Poorer households are more likely to keep small ruminants than richer ones who are more likely to keep large ruminants. Well-off is using livestock as the consumption and income enhancing purposes whereas the poor households see it as an income generating or the exchange mode of money in immediate need. It was seen that the most of the clients housing quality and household has been increased and they are having a good condition home that can save them with seasonal disaster in comparison to non-clients. Tourism spaceAbstract: This paper proposes a management model call ‘State as Co-Producer in the realm of tourism space: theoretical framework of TIME-SPACE & SELF’. This approach will contribute to the state’s policy and planning for tourism development. While traditional state’s role acts as a typical regulator or basic state developer e.g., building fundamental infrastructure and promoting the destination brand image, this paper proposes state in a new set of paradigm shift in more practical policy and planning, proactive-state as a co-stage producer. While the destination should not be viewed as blank space and the government-state’s job is to fill up this empty space by merely building basic infrastructures, instead we argue and suggest state’s role as proactive ‘co-stage producer’ to script, to theme, to nationalize, and to standardize the spaces as experiential stage or dramatized theater.
The research methodology is constructed from a set of serial researches of data collections as a larger doctoral research project. As tourism industry involves different and fragmented stakeholders, the researches are conducted with different interest groups from various tourism bodies: government, academic institutions, service providers (small-boutique hotel, spa service, tour operator, restaurant), and also tourists with different research questions for different sample.
In the finding drawn from the empirical cases in Thailand where state’s role has been co-producing the new tourism space through the time - space commodification and performing the frontstage and backstage management under the state’s policies and planning and create the new flow of consumption and production for new spaces. Simultaneously the tourist consumes space and time through their own five sensory touches. In this research the postmodern tourist becomes central study which plays role as new middle income consumer and quest for new tourism space of authenticity and modernity.
This paper put together these variable and construct the interrelationship pattern where ‘Time to be commodified’, ‘Space to be consumed’, and ‘Self to be experienced’ create the new flow of production and consumption within the new tourism space.Curricular : BBA/MBA/PhDM Record link: http://libsearch.siu.ac.th/siu/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=26633 SIU Thesis.
