The study of impulse buying behavior of customers in case of Nepal is new to the society because very less study has been done in Nepal for impulse buying. As mentioned before in case of Nepal such type of study is lagging, to address the gap, this research has been conducted to measure and analyze the significance of variables which are Credit card, Promotional Approach, Sensation cues, Store Atmosphere and Proximity for impulse buying. The study intends to recommend the suggestion for marketers, retailers, and manufacturers for making strategies in retail environment for impulse buying. The research adopted a qualitative approach to acquire insights of 111 respondents on the area of study, who have been preparing for MBA entrance exam.
The analysis of acquired data reveals that three out of five variables has significant relationship with impulse buying which are credit card, store atmosphere and proximity. Two variables promotional approach and sensation cues failed to pass the test of significance. Even though two variables failed to pass the test of significance the correlation with the impulse buying was positive, which states that the variables contribute to increase in buying of impulse product in department stores.
For enhancing impulse buying retailers and marketers should focus on store atmosphere, sensory cues, proximity and promotional approach of the store. The above factors plays a vital role for impulse buying but are not the only factors that affect the intensity of impulse buying. Marketers and retailers should also focus on other variables of impulse buying for better result, sales and for creating value to customer. The impulse buying has an awareness dimension, thus familiarity to the goods is largely driven by marketing activities including advertising, publicity and word of mouth.
The retailers and marketer should focus on the significant factors from this research to enhance impulse buying and enhance other factors for increasing impulse buying, which will have impact on sale, revenue and value of goods for both retailers, marketers and brands.Curricular : BBA/MBA Record link: http://libsearch.siu.ac.th/siu/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=27364 SIU IS. [LCSH]EmployeesAbstract: The present study was conducted to meet the requirement of Master in Business Administration (MBA) program of Shinawatra University. The main purpose of conducting the present research was to determine the overall level of employee job satisfaction and participation in commercial banks of Nepal as an applied research.
The present research was conducted by using quantitative method followed by exploratory, descriptive and causal designs. In order to make the present research more pragmatic and methodological age, gender, as gender, educational level of attainment, length of work, position and department were considered as unit of analyses. Sample size of 77 employees was used to conduct the present research. Samples were selected by using stratified random sampling method. Questionnaire tool was used to conduct the survey whereby the collected data were analyzed, presented and used to produce key findings about perceived level of employee job satisfaction.
After the analysis of the data, the key findings of the present study revealed that employees at commercial banks perceive operational level of job satisfaction. They are satisfied at operational level -- slightly lacking for claiming it at exemplary level so still there is some room for improvement for commercial banks to achieve full satisfaction at an exemplary level.
Among the five factors of employee job satisfaction and participation as dependent variable observed through the present research, the employees were reported to be highly satisfied in respect with conduciveness of the coworkers and supervision, whereas they reported to be the least satisfied with the rewards and benefits provided to them.
Also the five factors work environment, performance appraisal system and advancement, supervisor role, rewards and benefits, and coworkers were found to be highly correlated with the overall level of employee job satisfaction and participation.Curricular : BBA/MBA Record link: http://libsearch.siu.ac.th/siu/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=27380 SIU IS. In a seemingly volatile Nepali stock market, this research paper attempts to find if the market prices deviate from their fundamental values. The finding of this research is bound to be helpful to individual and institutional investors along with portfolio management service providers.
In order answer these questions, a sample of 20 BFIs are selected. The intrinsic value is calculated using the dividend discount model where future estimated dividends and estimated prices are discounted to present value. Welch’s t-test is used to determine if the market prices significantly deviate from the intrinsic
From the analyses it was concluded that market prices and intrinsic values do not significantly deviate from each other, i.e. the existing market prices do reflect their fundamental values at one point in time, regardless of the holding period of the investor.
This research paves way for other researches in this field; such as researches including lag and lead to find out if intrinsic value and market value coincide sometime in the future if not in the same point of time, or researches focusing on what other fundamental or non-fundamental factors can be attributed in explaining these deviations.
And finally, this research can be a helpful guide in making investment decisions for investors and investment companies when complemented with other relevant information.Curricular : BBA/MBA Record link: http://libsearch.siu.ac.th/siu/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=27381 SIU IS. The study examines the inflation of Nepal of 31 years from 1984 to 2014 AD from IMF, ADB and Nepal Rastra Bank. The broad objective is to identify the impact of monetary policy of Nepal in controlling inflation. It makes an important contribution to the literature by evaluating the magnitude and direction of the impact of broad money supply, exchange rate, oil price and of Nepal. The framework for analysis involves the relation of dependent variable inflation with independent variable i.e. money supply, exchange rate.
The study employed the descriptive, correlation and regression analysis with the ANOVA table which confirm the significant function of dependent and independent variable. There was also a strong correlation between inflation and money supply. The null hypothesis was Accepted indicating that there is a relationship between money supply and inflation, exchange rate and inflation, and inflation and oil price and inflation which is the case as empirical evidence does suggest so. A theoretically expected positive long run relationship was empirically confirmed between inflation and money supply.
The result of the analysis shows that money supply and exchange rate, and oil price bear to the leading monetary instrument that can be employed to combat inflation in Nepal. Leading companies have started releasing drinks with numerous name brands in Nepalese market. This study aims at analyzing whether the factors, such as taste, price, packaging, and celebrity, affect the brand preference of soft drink. In an attempt to get the result, the hypothesis is developed to identify weather there is a significant relationship between the above mentioned advertised attributes which are taken as the independent variables, and brand preference of soft drink, which is taken as the dependent variable. This study focuses on analyzing the consumer’s brand preferences for Aerated/ Carbonated drinks focusing on Coca Cola, Fanta, Sprite, Pepsi, Slice and Mountain Dew. A structured questionnaire was used to collect data from 84 respondents who were of both genders; male and female through convenience sampling.
The results show that taste and price of the soft drink brand influences the respondents to make brand preferences but not by packaging and celebrity endorsements. Similarly, the respondents of different occupation get influenced by taste and price but do not get influenced by packaging and celebrity. The study also revealed that Television is the most effective media used for advertising the brand. In view of this, the marketing managers of soft drink companies are suggested to give more attention to Television as a medium of advertisement because of its versatile feature and better geographic coverage. They can employ integrated advertising of their products and allocate more budgets for Television advertisements due to its great impact in influencing consumer choice. Likewise, after television outdoor media is also given preference. Therefore looking at the current scenario, advertisement in social media such as YouTube, Facebook can also create a lot of influence amongst people of all age groups. Similarly, the findings also show that celebrity endorsements are not much valued by the consumers and therefore marketers must focus their budget more on providing quality soft drinks rather than investing on celebrity endorsements.Curricular : BBA/MBA Record link: http://libsearch.siu.ac.th/siu/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=27398 SIU IS.

Similarly, the findings also show that celebrity endorsements are not much valued by the consumers and therefore marketers must focus their budget more on providing quality soft drinks rather than investing on celebrity endorsements.Curricular : BBA/MBA Record link: http://libsearch.siu.ac.th/siu/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=27398 Hold
