Goal Structuring NotationAbstract: A safety-critical system is one whose failure can result in significant damage or loss to people, property or the environment. Safety critical systems usually require certification before being permitted to enter service. Central to the certification process is compilation and approval by an appropriate regulator of a safety case. A safety case should present a clear, comprehensive and defensible argument that a system is acceptably safe to operate within a particular context
This report considers means of representing safety cases. After briefly introducing traditional representation formats (including free text, tables, and matrices) and their inherent problems we focus on the development and evolution of Goal Structuring Notation (GSN). GSN enables graphical representation of safety arguments, providing greater scrutability of argument structures, improved maintainability and reuse of existing arguments and better management of safety cases for complex systems.
We chart the history of GSN, from its beginnings in academia to widespread usage throughout many safety-critical industries, from nuclear and maritime, to the railways, defense and aerospace, where it is now the de facto standard. En route we introduce elements of the original ‘vanilla’ Goal Structuring Notation, outline its transition from a basic notation to a comprehensive method, we describe the concept of safety case patterns which foster reuse both within and across domains and extensions to enable modular representation of safety arguments such that the architecture of an argument reflects that of the target system. Extensions to GSN to represent dependability cases are also discussed where naturally conflicting attributes such as maintainability and reliability often require the making and recording of trade-offs and compromise.
The report rounds off by addressing recent developments in Goal Structure Notion, notably introduction of the OMG-GSN-Meta-model that facilitates interoperability of safety arguments between tools, as well as moves to formalize the notation so that its semantics are clearly understood. An alternative approach to handling complexity in the form of hierarchical safety cases is documented, before we briefly emphasize the versatility of GSN describing its application to subject areas as diverse as business management, drama, archaeology and astrobiology.Curricular : BSCS/GE/MSIT Record link: http://libsearch.siu.ac.th/siu/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=26494 SIU IS. IntrinsicAbstract: This study intends to analyze employee satisfaction on motivational practices of Mandalay Hill Resort Hotel. The study has two perspectives. The first is motivation practices of Mandalay Hill Resort Hotel and the second is employee satisfaction regarding those practices. In studying employee satisfaction on motivational practices, this paper applies Herzberg’s two-factor theory. The study also intends to understand what motivates employees most and creates their satisfaction.
The research found that employees from all levels satisfy on both motivators and hygiene factors. However, satisfaction of management-level staff are the highest on both motivators, and hygiene factors, satisfaction of supervisory -level staff are the lowest on motivators, and satisfaction of operational-level staff is the lowest on hygiene factors. Among the motivators, management level staff is highly satisfied with their work itself while supervisory 1evel staff are mostly satisfied with recognition, and operational level staff are mainly satisfied with achievement. Among the hygiene factors, staff at all levels are mostly satisfied with interpersonal relationships.
Based on the results of this study, Mandalay Hill Resort Hotel needs to emphasize more regarding motivators and hygiene factors for supervisory and operational level staff in order to improve employee satisfaction.

in Geriatric Nursing > Vol.38 No.6 (์Nov-Dec) 2017 [03/05/2018] . - p.17-21Keywords: Oral hygiene interventions, Nurses, Hospital, Observation, Case study Abstract: Dependent older hospitalized patients rely on nurses to assist them with the removal of plaque from their teeth, dentures, and oral cavities. Oral care interventions by 25 nurses on post-acute units, where patients have longer hospital stays, were observed during evening care. In addition to efforts to engage patients in oral care, nurses provided the following interventions: (a) supporting the care of persons with dentures; (b) supporting the care of natural teeth; (c) cleansing the tongue and oral cavity; and (d) moisturizing lips and oral tissues. Patients' oral hygiene care was supported in just over one-third of encounters. Denture care was inconsistently performed, and was infrequently followed by care of the oral cavity. Nurses did not encourage adequate self-care of natural teeth by patients, and infrequently moisturized tissues. Evidence-based oral hygiene care standards are required to assist nurses to support patients in achieving optimal oral hygiene outcomes. in Geriatric Nursing > Vol.38 No.6 (์Nov-Dec) 2017 [03/05/2018] . Human Factors in SCSAbstract: A safety-critical system is one whose failure can result in significant damage
or loss to people, property or the environment. Critical systems vary in type, from
nuclear and defense applications, to medical devices, transportation, traffic control,
and smart vehicles. Developing safety-critical systems involves many challenges, as
consequence of their failure can be catastrophic.
Nowadays computers are being used more and more to control safety critical
functions of systems where electromechanical or other technologies were once used.
Such change is perceived to be due to a range of factors including increased
processing power, physical size and weight – all of which can lead to major cost
savings across a project.
This report describes the main areas of concern and techniques used in the
development of safety critical systems from hardware, software and significantly,
human perspectives (significant because while human error statistically remains the
main cause of accidents involving SCS, the corpus of work in that area remains
relatively slim). Like any ‘road-map’, we draw conclusions on where we are now!Curricular : BSCS/GE/MSIT Record link: http://libsearch.siu.ac.th/siu/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=26210 Safety Critical System Engineering: Road Map [printed text] / Brang Seng, Author ; Paul Andrew James Mason, Associated Name ; Aekavute Sujarae, Associated Name . - [S.l.] : Bangkok: Shinawatra University, 2015 . - vii, 101 น. : ภาพประกอบ, ตาราง ; 30 ซม.
