The purpose of this paper is to find whether the motivational factors such as recognition, compensation and reward, organization culture, quality of work life, and growth and development motivate the employees of the IT companies in the Kathmandu Valley as well as examine the relationship between those factors with employee retention.
In order to answer these questions, a primary data survey was conducted on 120 respondents working at 5 different IT companies in the Kathmandu Valley. The data were analyzed using statistical tools such as Descriptive analysis, Cronbach Alpha test, Cross Tabulation, Chi-Square test, Correlation analysis and Regression analysis.
From the analysis, it was concluded that there is a very close association and relationship between the motivational factors used as independent variables (recognition, compensation and reward, organization culture, quality of work life, growth and development) with the dependent variable, i.e. employee retention.Curricular : BBA/MBA Record link: http://libsearch.siu.ac.th/siu/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=27531 SIU IS. Multivariate RegressionAbstract: Workforce diversity is considered to be a major challenge that has easily turned into a losing situation for all involved leading to the discouragement of employees consequently affecting employee performance in many organizations. Many people believe that workforce diversity is essential for employee performance. In this study, workforce diversity is defined as a similarities and differences among employees in terms of age, cultural background, race, religion, gender, and sexual orientation. These similarities and differences formed five different independent variables (i.e. age group, gender, cultural diversity, educational background and work experience) of this study which was considered to the most critical variables in the context of Nepal.
The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of workforce diversity on employee performance of Nepal. Convenient sampling technique was used to get respondents within the Telecom companies of Nepal. 200 employees i.e. 100 employees each from two major Telecom companies (NTC and NCELL) were targeted for data collection. Data was collected through self-administered questionnaires that included varieties of questions such as single response questions and Likert scale questions. Data collected through the questionnaire was analyzed statistically by using the Software Package for Social Science (SPSS). It was then summarized using tables.
The summarized responses were used for examining the effect of each variable on employee performance. Chi-square analysis showed all the hypotheses were a good fit. Correlation Coefficient analysis showed a significant level of association between all other variables and employee performance except age group. Whereas, the multivariate regression analysis showed age and cultural diversity was insignificant. However, it became clear from the data analysis that workforce diversity is a well-accepted phenomenon at the Telecom companies of Nepal. For this study, various literatures were examined and reviewed to identify and investigate the relationship between workforce diversity and employee performance in which a gap existed since none of these studies was conducted in Telecom companies of Nepal.Curricular : BBA/MBA Record link: http://libsearch.siu.ac.th/siu/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=27516 SIU IS. This study is quantitative in nature and aimed to find out the relationship between above mentioned variables and employees’ performance in commercial banks of Nepal as a sample based on 190 employees.
The study will be analyzed by applying regression analysis using SPSS software because there are 5 independent variables and their affects have to be seen on the performance of the employees which is the sole dependent variable. For this purpose data was collected from 20 banks of Nepal with the research sample consisted of 190 employees working at different commercial banks, where questionnaires designed by the researcher were used to analyze the factors affecting employee performance.
The purpose of the study is to identify and analyze the association between different organizational factors and employee performance in commercial banks of Nepal and to investigate existing literature and theory in order to initially construct a conceptual framework of factors affecting employee performance. It tries to examine the impact of liquidity on profitability by comparing two private banks established after 2000 A.D. It has taken two private banks for the period between 2008/09 and 2014/15 inorder to address the objectives. Considering liquidity can increase the profitability , the study has examined the liquidity of Laxmi Bank Ltd and Kumari Bank Ltd as well as profitability position, using various financial tools and indicators. The overall trend of liquidity ratios are not smoothing in both Laxmi Bank and Kumari Bank. But variation in liquidity ratios as well as profitability in Kumari Bank is lower than
Laxmi Bank. Fluctuating trend of the liquidity ratios make difficulty in the increase trend of profitability of the banks. So, according to liquidity and profitability, Kumari Bank seems to be more efficient than Laxmi Bank.
There is a significant positive effect of NRBTDR and CABTDR on
profitability in both Laxmi Bank Ltd and Kumari Bank Ltd. CHTDR, LFTCLR and LFTDR are negatively correlated with the ROA in case of Kumari Bank. NRBTDR, CHTDR and CABTDR are positively correlated whereas LFTCLR and LFTDR are negatively correlated with the ROA in case of Laxmi Bank. The positive correlation indicates that the increase in the liquidity ratios lead to increase in profitability and
vice-versa whereas negative correlation indicates that increase in ratios lead to decrease in profitability and vice- versa.
The overall average ROA of Laxmi Bank and Kumari Bank are similar but coefficient of variation of Kumari Bank Ltd is lower than that of Laxmi Bank Ltd. This means that profitability position is more consistent in Kumari Bank. So, Kumari Bank is better in profitability position in terms of low variation. Applying the correlation and the multiple regressions, the study finds that among the multiple independent macroeconomic variables taken for analysis: real gross domestic product, inflation, interest rate, stock market index and remittance, only interest rate, stock market index and remittance affected the dependent variable IPO, which was proxy by Number of IPOs, Total IPO Proceeds raised, Average IPO Proceeds raised. Stock market index and remittance have a statistically significant positive relationship with the dependent variables IPO and all of its proxies. The Interest rate, on the other hand, has a negative statistically significant relationship with the dependent variables IPO and all of its proxies. The results show that the interest rate has a negative impact on the frequency of the IPO floatation and the IPO proceeds floated by firms, in the primary market. A growing secondary stock market activity, higher inflow of remittance in the economy and a falling interest rate in the market, influences more number of firms to go public with high issue amount.
