IT infrastructure library ITIL Thailand | Abstract: | This study aims to determine the adoption status of information technology infrastructure library (ITIL) of organizations in Thailand which includes types of processes being implemented, factors contribute to the success of ITIL implementation and what are benefits that ITIL provide to organizations. The focus of this study was also placed on current ITIL initiative and progress, perceptions related to success factors, and perceptions about ITIL effectiveness. Data were collected from 434 IT related staffs who work in organizations’ IT departments.
The results from this study found that large size organizations, especially those with large IT workforces lead the implementation of ITIL. The main reason for the adoption of ITIL is to response to quality improvement. The service desk function and incident management process are being implemented by most of the respondents’ organizations. The results also found that issues and commitment from senior management identified as most critical factor for the success in ITIL implementation.
