| Abstract: | This study examines the impact of insurance in the GDP of Nepal and how insurance field is developing in the current market scenarios. As we all know that insurance plays a very pivotal role in the financial stability of the country in terms of security and reimbursements. Here the data are collected of overall insurance companies to study their development, both from life and non-life insurance companies operating in Nepal. Beema Samiti is the regulating body which looks after all the insurance companies of Nepal. The data being collected here are from the Beema Samiti itself which has been carefully studied and analyzed in order to bring about a valid conclusion here.
People live in society and society is full of risks and uncertainty. Insurance is a device providing financial compensation to those who suffer from misfortune. In other words, insurance is the best means for security to human life and property from various risks. Due to negligence of general people towards insurance field, the status which the insurance should have received has not lived up-to its mark in Nepal. If we look at other countries, we can see that almost all people have coverage of their insurance because the government itself regulates various laws for people to follow. Nepal in terms of insurance is still in its infancy. Until and unless the government does not forces the people with certain laws regarding compulsion, people are not interested or very negligent. For the development of the country as well, the insurance factors plays a very important role.
