Social media is a media which primarily used to transmit or share information with a broad audience, while social networking is an act of engagement as people with common interests associate together and build relationships. Social networks not only allow people to meet and communicate with strangers, but they also let users organize and visible their social networks. In many ways, social media has led to positive changes in the way people communicate and share information; however, it has a dark side as well. It can sometimes result in negative outcomes, some with long-term consequences. This study examines on the good uses and abuses of different social networks in order to understand on the risks faced by the users and to raise the awareness of the negative effects of social networks.
