Human Factors in SCSAbstract: A safety-critical system is one whose failure can result in significant damage
or loss to people, property or the environment. Critical systems vary in type, from
nuclear and defense applications, to medical devices, transportation, traffic control,
and smart vehicles. Developing safety-critical systems involves many challenges, as
consequence of their failure can be catastrophic.
Nowadays computers are being used more and more to control safety critical
functions of systems where electromechanical or other technologies were once used.
Such change is perceived to be due to a range of factors including increased
processing power, physical size and weight – all of which can lead to major cost
savings across a project.
This report describes the main areas of concern and techniques used in the
development of safety critical systems from hardware, software and significantly,
human perspectives (significant because while human error statistically remains the
main cause of accidents involving SCS, the corpus of work in that area remains
relatively slim). Like any ‘road-map’, we draw conclusions on where we are now!Curricular : BSCS/GE/MSIT Record link: http://libsearch.siu.ac.th/siu/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=26210 Safety Critical System Engineering: Road Map [printed text] / Brang Seng, Author ; Paul Andrew James Mason, Associated Name ; Aekavute Sujarae, Associated Name . - [S.l.] : Bangkok: Shinawatra University, 2015 . - vii, 101 น. : ภาพประกอบ, ตาราง ; 30 ซม.
