Abstract:	English becomes a means of communication among Asians and English for specific needs will be increasingly more important, English Specific Purposes (ESP) will therefore play a more vital role. A look at any issues relating to Asian ESP will shed light to recent trends of ESP teaching and research in this context. This study therefore aimed to explore recent trends in Asian ESP teaching and research from 2005 to 2013, with two specific purposes which aim to: 1) explore the recent trends in Asian ESP teaching; 2) explore the recent trends in Asian ESP research. The Asian ESP Journal which has been a flagship in this area was chosen for this study. This study was a content analysis. Descriptive design and statistics was used for qualitative and quantitative analysis to draw the conclusion of the study. The results of the study revealed recent trends and shed light to future Asian ESP teaching and research, also helped shed some lights on AEC (ASEAN Economic Community) career preparation in the future.
