SelectionAbstract: The research study is based on the process of Recruitment & Selection process of Cipla, Pharmaceuticals Company. This study is intended to understand the impact of the above mentioned process and its effectiveness. Based on detailed examination of literature on best practices in Recruitment & Selection, the research questionnaires were developed and using qualitative research methods, the Recruitment & Selection practices of Cipla were investigated.
The data gathered through questionnaires which were completed by the employees of Cipla states that there are many ways through which the company attracts new candidates the most prevalent methods include the use of application blanks selection interview, tests, assessment counters and reference checks. Selection interview is relatively in-depth conversation for the purpose of assessing candidate’s knowledge, skills and abilities as well as providing information to the candidate about the organization and potential jobs. The questionnaires also help the company to know whether the employees of the company are satisfied with their job and the salary package offered to them by the company. One desire is the company to determine the reasons why their employees leave their jobs. Reasons may be due to work pressure or to no growth opportunities. Another aim is to know whether the deserving employee is performing the right task or not. This will enable the researcher to understand the process of Recruitment & Selection.
The main limitation of this research is that the primary data collected through questionnaires is only employees’ perspective about the Recruitment & Selection process not the employers’ viewpoints.
