[LCSH]Historic districts -- China -- Guangzhou -- Yongqingfang
[LCSH]Visual perceptionKeywords: Historic districts, Yongqingfang, Landscape, Cultural landscape, Cultural tourism, Visual perception, Landscape preferences, Perception quality, Emotional experience, Wandering path Abstract: Based on theories such as Gestalt Psychology, Art and Visual Perception, Landscape preference theory and Wandering Path, this study investigates the cultural visual perceptual experience of Yongqingfang Historic District, this study provides a different perspective to the study of the renovation design of historic districts, and provides a set of effective methods for the evaluation of the visual perception of the cultural landscape of historic districts. In this study, the Concurrent Triangulation Mixture method was used to collect and analyze the data, include provides a qualitative analysis of tourist online texts and a quantitative analysis using a set of ambient spatial photos from a specific viewpoint of the district. Moreover, the results of the two studies were combined to obtain uniform results. It attempts to answer the question of what are the visual elements that affect the quality of tourists' perception of the cultural landscape of the Yongqingfang Historic District, how the proportion of visual elements of the cultural landscape in the historic districts affects the tourist's visual perception, and how the extent to which the tourist's perception changes during a walk through the historic district affects the tourist's perceptual experience. Finally, through a discussion of the aforementioned research questions, the paper summarizes the effective ways to improve the visual perception quality and assessment of the cultural landscape of historic districts by tourists and suggests some suggestions.
The results show that based on the screening of visual elements of cultural landscapes in historic districts, including material and immaterial culture, and controlling the proportion of cultural visual elements in the landscape at 50% and below, it is conducive to improving the quality of tourists' perception of cultural landscapes. The perceptual changes of multiple landscape nodes along the wandering path in the historic district, such as having a larger span of positive and negative deviation means,
a higher frequency of positive or negative deviation transitions of visual perception values, and a higher frequency of high or low transitions of visual perception values, can bring tourists a richer and more exciting emotional experience of visual perception. The research methods, results and conclusions adopted in this study can provide reference for the renewal design of historic districts and help designers to better grasp the 'figure-ground relationship' between historical and cultural elements and additional elements, which can be achieved by controlling the mean value, deviation value and perceptual rhythm of cultural visual perception in order to achieve a balance, so that the historic and cultural elements of the neighborhood are more easily viewed, recognized
and remembered by tourists.Curricular : BALA/GE/MTEIL Record link: http://libsearch.siu.ac.th/siu/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=28660 SIU Thesis.
