Cultural transmissionAbstract: This study explored the morphological characteristics of Dechang Lisu music and its function and significance within the Lisu cultural context. Through an analysis of the musical expression of the Dechang Lisu people, the author revealed the uniqueness of traditional Lisu music. The importance of music in Lisu rituals and its role in historical and cultural transmission were emphasized.
Through four field surveys, the author used qualitative research methods to analyze Lisu’s musical elements and cultural background. The author also examined the influence of instrument-making and performance styles on musical forms, focusing on Guaqie music. The study found that Dechang Lisu music is mainly expressed through song and dance. The folk instrumental piece “Hulusheng” plays a significant role in Lisu life, particularly in wedding ceremonies.
In this study, the author analyzed the challenges and opportunities facing the Lisu music of Dechang.
