Abstract:	Konghou is an ancient plucked string instrument in our country, which has a history of more than two thousand years however, the ancient Konghou had been lost for more than three hundred years, until the 1930s, the Konghou art reappeared in the people's vision, resulting in the modern Konghou still belongs to the minority instrument, has not being really popularized and promoted With the appearance of modern Konghou, the country needs a large number of talents in the field of Konghou to popularize and inherit excellent traditional national instruments. My research objective include the development and decline of ancient Konghou; The development status of modern Konghou under the background of new era. This research is mainly based on qualitative research and supplemented by quantitative research. The qualitative research includes historical literature method , observation method and interview method. The quantitative study uses the questionnarie method, which has two target groups, the students in the sixth grade of primary school and the parents of students who learn the Konghou. The imprisonment of the court is an important reason for the loss of the ancient Konghou, the high price of the modern Konghou, the small audience, the lack of teachers and so on are imporant reasons to restrict its development. therefore, paying attention to the cultivation of talents, actively promoting the Konghou course, diversifying the influence of Konghou, optimizing the shape and system of modern Konghou, and reducing the price of Konghou are the important ways for the future develpoment of Konghou.
