Among these individuals, a social choir dominated by the elderly has developed. Prior research has focused on the subjective experiences of chorus members, such as their physiology, psychology, and social well-being, among others. However, few empirical studies have examined the development of individual experience and mental state. Based on experiential learning theory and the SOR model, this study developed a model of the interaction of psychological factors in the choral experience of older adults, including the antecedents and outcomes of various experiential phases. The objective is to investigate the evolutionary process of the psychological states of senior adults in relation to their experiences and to provide a theoretical framework for choral singing research.
A questionnaire was used to capture data for this quantitative analysis-based study. Participants were senior choir members from Harbin, Heilongjiang Province. In addition, a sample of 571 questionnaires was statistically analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM) to assess the validity of the hypotheses and models in the study. The nonparametric percentile Bootstrap method was used to investigate the indirect and mediating effects based on this. Finding shows, the indirect effects of environmental stimuli, cognitive resonance, affective resonance, and satisfaction on "Red memory" were substantial. In addition, we discovered a chain-mediating impact between red memory and cognitive resonance, affective resonance, satisfaction as well as behavioral intention (Effect value = 0.001), which totally verified the hypothesis constructed of the study. The research employed a method of cross-disciplinary analysis that was both innovative and conducive to the study of choral activities, aging groups, and experiential learning theory. Moreover, the study developed the application of experiential theory in the field of choral research by empirical investigation (i.e., choral experience theory), bridging the theoretical gap in music research. The findings will assist senior choir managers in developing and implementing choral experience- oriented service strategies to improve the quality of the choral experience, increase the contentment of choir members, and generate positive red memories.Curricular : BALA/GE/MTEIL Record link: http://libsearch.siu.ac.th/siu/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=28665 SIU Thesis.
