O-Net TestAbstract: The O-Net scores of Thai learners were disappointing. A study of curriculums was an attempt to find the solution to this problem. This study therefore analyzed a the basic English curriculums with two specific objectives which were to: 1) describe and compare different types of curriculum on language learning and 2) describe and compare different types of curriculum on language skills achievement. The different types of curriculum and a national test of English achievement under analysis in this study included Basic Education Core Curriculum, School Curriculums and O-Net Test. The curriculums of three schools purposively selected included Assumption College Primary Section School, Wat Thungkru Puengsaianusorn School, and Roong-Aroon School. The results of this study revealed that the curriculums had fewer effects on English learning and language skills achievement than classroom processes and methodology. Future inquiry should replicate this present study with other schools in these types. Goal Structuring NotationAbstract: A safety-critical system is one whose failure can result in significant damage or loss to people, property or the environment. Safety critical systems usually require certification before being permitted to enter service. Central to the certification process is compilation and approval by an appropriate regulator of a safety case. A safety case should present a clear, comprehensive and defensible argument that a system is acceptably safe to operate within a particular context
This report considers means of representing safety cases. After briefly introducing traditional representation formats (including free text, tables, and matrices) and their inherent problems we focus on the development and evolution of Goal Structuring Notation (GSN). GSN enables graphical representation of safety arguments, providing greater scrutability of argument structures, improved maintainability and reuse of existing arguments and better management of safety cases for complex systems.
We chart the history of GSN, from its beginnings in academia to widespread usage throughout many safety-critical industries, from nuclear and maritime, to the railways, defense and aerospace, where it is now the de facto standard. En route we introduce elements of the original ‘vanilla’ Goal Structuring Notation, outline its transition from a basic notation to a comprehensive method, we describe the concept of safety case patterns which foster reuse both within and across domains and extensions to enable modular representation of safety arguments such that the architecture of an argument reflects that of the target system. Extensions to GSN to represent dependability cases are also discussed where naturally conflicting attributes such as maintainability and reliability often require the making and recording of trade-offs and compromise.
The report rounds off by addressing recent developments in Goal Structure Notion, notably introduction of the OMG-GSN-Meta-model that facilitates interoperability of safety arguments between tools, as well as moves to formalize the notation so that its semantics are clearly understood. An alternative approach to handling complexity in the form of hierarchical safety cases is documented, before we briefly emphasize the versatility of GSN describing its application to subject areas as diverse as business management, drama, archaeology and astrobiology.Curricular : BSCS/GE/MSIT Record link: http://libsearch.siu.ac.th/siu/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=26494 SIU IS. IntrinsicAbstract: This study intends to analyze employee satisfaction on motivational practices of Mandalay Hill Resort Hotel. The study has two perspectives. The first is motivation practices of Mandalay Hill Resort Hotel and the second is employee satisfaction regarding those practices. In studying employee satisfaction on motivational practices, this paper applies Herzberg’s two-factor theory. The study also intends to understand what motivates employees most and creates their satisfaction.
The research found that employees from all levels satisfy on both motivators and hygiene factors. However, satisfaction of management-level staff are the highest on both motivators, and hygiene factors, satisfaction of supervisory -level staff are the lowest on motivators, and satisfaction of operational-level staff is the lowest on hygiene factors. Among the motivators, management level staff is highly satisfied with their work itself while supervisory 1evel staff are mostly satisfied with recognition, and operational level staff are mainly satisfied with achievement. Among the hygiene factors, staff at all levels are mostly satisfied with interpersonal relationships.
Based on the results of this study, Mandalay Hill Resort Hotel needs to emphasize more regarding motivators and hygiene factors for supervisory and operational level staff in order to improve employee satisfaction.

Due to the increasing number of tourist arriving in Mandalay, the hotel room demand is becoming higher than in previous years. To fulfill the demand, investors are building new hotels urgently. International standard luxury hotels are very few in Mandalay and have been that way for many years. Although the hotel industry is rapidly growing, the room availability is still not sufficient for international visitors.
The most essential factor of successful hotel operation is service quality. This research focuses on the importance of service quality, customer satisfaction, staff recruitment, employee motivation, and training in newly built hotel.
Supporting data for this research was collected through questionnaires which used a five point Llikert scale. The questionnaires were distributed to 200 guests randomly and the numbers of respondents were 152. Also interviews with hotel professionals and newly appointed staffs both managerial and non-managerial positions were collected. Some documents from the Myanmar Ministry of Hotels and Tourism official website and face to face interview with tourism authority personnel were also used.
In this research paper, both qualitative and quantitative methods were used, and the data was analyzed using the Microsoft excel and the method of descriptive analysis. The findings showed that the demand of hotel rooms is increasing continuously, and to bridge the gap between visitors demand and hotel room supply is the big challenge for hotel operators. On the other hand the service quality is very important and that can be trained, practice and maintain properly to achieve the goal of the hotels.
The benefit of this research is to support the hotel investors to run the business efficiently and effectively. At the same time to develop and maintain the staff’s capacity both physically and mentally.Curricular : BBA/MBA Record link: http://libsearch.siu.ac.th/siu/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=26585 SIU IS. SelectionAbstract: The research study is based on the process of Recruitment & Selection process of Cipla, Pharmaceuticals Company. This study is intended to understand the impact of the above mentioned process and its effectiveness. Based on detailed examination of literature on best practices in Recruitment & Selection, the research questionnaires were developed and using qualitative research methods, the Recruitment & Selection practices of Cipla were investigated.
The data gathered through questionnaires which were completed by the employees of Cipla states that there are many ways through which the company attracts new candidates the most prevalent methods include the use of application blanks selection interview, tests, assessment counters and reference checks. Selection interview is relatively in-depth conversation for the purpose of assessing candidate’s knowledge, skills and abilities as well as providing information to the candidate about the organization and potential jobs. The questionnaires also help the company to know whether the employees of the company are satisfied with their job and the salary package offered to them by the company. One desire is the company to determine the reasons why their employees leave their jobs. Reasons may be due to work pressure or to no growth opportunities. Another aim is to know whether the deserving employee is performing the right task or not. This will enable the researcher to understand the process of Recruitment & Selection.
The main limitation of this research is that the primary data collected through questionnaires is only employees’ perspective about the Recruitment & Selection process not the employers’ viewpoints. If both employees and employers’ perspectives could have been known it would have given a clearer understanding of the process.Curricular : BBA/GE/MBA Record link: http://libsearch.siu.ac.th/siu/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=26587 SIU IS.
If both employees and employers’ perspectives could have been known it would have given a clearer understanding of the process.Curricular : BBA/GE/MBA Record link: http://libsearch.siu.ac.th/siu/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=26587 Hold

The researcher uses free and face to face response interviews of purchasers and sellers, both males and females. Regarding tangible factors, the most important was related to aesthetics. Comparison of responses of customers who purchased and customers who did not purchase jade jewelry revealed that different factors had primary effects in two stages of the purchase process: the motivation phase which might include their reasons to buy, and the trial phase, the actual buying or rejecting phase. In the first phase, motivation may depend on social competition, popularity, and vanity or on the reasons as such they want them for personal use, for gift and or just for collection reason. They were the most critical in influencing selection of the jewelry from the display racks or cabinets. Fit, styling, and appearance on the body were more important in determining rejection or adoption of the garments during the trial phase (when the customers try them on). Seller reputation, word-of-mouth recommendation and expertise are the important determining factors as well. In other word, trust is also a necessity. The researcher begins in her research to identify the most influencing factors which draw the purchasers to make decision in purchasing jade jewelry. Then, she methodologically discuses her finding concluding her work with her finding comparing with what scholars says theoretically Curricular : BBA/MBA Record link: http://libsearch.siu.ac.th/siu/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=26589 SIU IS. Fleishman-Hillard SustainabilityAbstract: Wood Craft Centre Limited (hereinafter WCCL) a government undertaking organization and one of the leading furniture manufacturers in Bhutan, has been the choice of many customers, mainly government agencies and corporate bodies in purchasing and procurement of furniture products. With the change in the living standard of the Bhutanese people, the preference for the modern furniture is increasing yearly. With the increase in the preference and demand for the furniture, and also the private sector development being much emphasized by the government .Although it is seen as a noble pursuit in the economic development many new furniture houses are coming up, so WCCL fears competition from competitors and withdrawal of support rendered by the government. Hence, the WCCL’s sustainability in a competitive environment is under enormous threat.
Mindful of this problem and to help address the same, this report has been prepared by conducting research in the sponsor company (WCCL). The research was undertaken with clear objectives, purpose and methodology as outlined in the study. This report presents an analysis of the data collected from the WCCL in addition to semi-structured questionnaires that were circulated to its past, present and potential customers.
The SWOT analysis of WCCL shows the internal and the external factors determining the situation of the company. The usage of Porter’s five forces indicates what forces are operating in the market and Fleishman-Hillard Sustainability talks about the long run sustainability. The other issue existed which existed for a long time is pricing. Price has always been a concern to its customers. In order to compete in the market, the WCCL either has to adopt product differentiation or start high volume production. The WCCL has the competitive advantage in the area of barrier to entry, access to working capital and ownership of the equipment. These will help the WCCL to grow in terms of sustainability in the long run.
