[LCSH]OrganizationKeywords: Exploratory factor analysis, high-performance, organization Abstract: The purposes of this study were1) to learn the characteristics of NBTC high performance organization, 2) to consider the factors of high performance organization of NBTC, and 3) to suggest the theoretical model of the organization that is high performance organization in the NBTC. The population in this study was 240 people. Questionnaires were employed to collect data and the data was analyzed processing exploratory factor analysis by using the method of principal component analysis, using Varimax Method to rotate the element core perpendicularly.
The finding showed that:
1. In the overall, high level of the characteristics of high- performance organizations of NBTC was observed with mean and S.D. scores at 3.71 and 0.94 respectively, consisted of 1) the organizational structure with the highest average, followed by No. 2, knowledge management, No. 3) organizational culture, No. 4), technology, No. 5) Staff, No. 6) Management model and leadership, No. 7) Innovation process, No.8) Organization strategy, and No. 9) Resources respectively.
2. The results show that there are 5 factors which Eigen values between 2.662- 24.940 and therefore can describe the high-performance organization of the NBTC, consisting of Innovation Organization, Management and Personnel Development, Risk management, Organizational Culture, and Collaboration. Every factor has an Eigen value of more than 1.00 which can explain the cumulative variance equal to 50.68%. Each factor describes variance of 24.940, 19.946, 4.564, 3.138 and 2.662 respectively. The finding factors 1) The Innovation Organization has the most variable value. It shows that it affects the high performance of NBTC.
3. Suggestions for the theoretical model of the organization are that high performance organization in the NBTC promotes the characteristics of being a competent organization of the NBTC. Therefore, NBTC should improve 5 factors consisting of Innovation Organization, Management and Personnel Development, Risk management, Organizational Culture and Collaboration to suit the current changing situation. Collect information consistently while organizations are ongoing and the information should be brought the NBTC technology system to generate benefits of the Organization.Curricular : BBA/MBA/PhDM Record link: http://libsearch.siu.ac.th/siu/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=27926 SIU Thesis. [LCSH]opiumKeywords: Crop substitution, drugs eradication, Kachin State, Myanmar, opium Abstract: This thesis uses a qualitative, mixed methods approach to investigation the management of drugs eradication in Kachin State in northern Myanmar and the possibility for substituting opium growth for cash crops such as Inca Inchi peanuts.
Key informant interviewing and participant observation were instrument of ethnographic research that were combined with personal interviewing with semi-structured interview agendas as a means of collecting data in a process that began many years ago and has incorporated interactions and interviews with hundreds of different people, along with the more structured research approach embarked upon specifically for this thesis.
It was found that the use of drugs in Kachin State now is so prevalent and pervasive that it is treated as an inevitable and unavoidable part of life in everyday. It has spread to nearly every sector of society. Many people in dangerous or difficult jobs are given drugs as part of their salary so that it is easier for them to survive the monotony and risk. When people try to tackle the drugs usage, such as religious groups, then they tend to consider it to be a moral choice and the drug takers should be treated accordingly.
This kind of war on drugs thinking does not work very well. In the case of crop substitution, this might be possible in terms of agriculture but to do so successfully would require peaceful relations, better infrastructure, a replacement distribution system and the creation of a suitable commercial centre such as a special economic zone for it to become feasible. Some suggestions are made concerning the nature of the organization that would be required to make this possible, if it is possible. Other implications are drawn and recommendations made.Curricular : BBA/MBA/PhDM Record link: http://libsearch.siu.ac.th/siu/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=27927 SIU Thesis. International SchoolsAbstract: The underlying premise of this paper is that the education landscape has changed in recent times and is undergoing even more dramatic changes. These changes include, but are not limited to, globalisation, evolving national curricula, the need for a more global education, attracting and retaining value-adding faculty members and the increased competition to attract students. Another significant hurdle that schools need to deal with is a shrinking pool of available teachers. Enrolment by young people into teacher education degrees are falling and further exacerbating the situation is the fact that many existing Baby Boomer aged teachers are retiring from teaching.
These changes in the teaching landscape are all having an impact on the ways schools conduct business, and is particularly true in the international school setting. Added to this, some of the historical attractions such as salary, benefits and the adventure of travel may not have the same currency or value that they once enjoyed. A significant proportion of teachers in international schools are less than 40 years old and by various learned and accepted definitions, fall into the generational category of millennials. This cohort, the so-called millennial, has been the focus of some research of late, and initial findings would indicate that there are a lot of unknowns and misconceptions surrounding millennials, their expectations, their world view, and how to best utilise them in the workforce.
Following these lines of inquiry, it is believed that identifying some of these potential generational differences in needs and wants will assist schools in developing sustainable strategies for the attraction, development and retention of young teachers, which in turn will create increased efficiency and competitive advantage.Curricular : BBA/MBA/PhDM Record link: http://libsearch.siu.ac.th/siu/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=27928 SIU Thesis. PanaceaAbstract: The main purpose of this study was to examine the direct influence of good governance practice on financial performance (return on assets) of Nepalese savings and credit cooperatives of Kathmandu district under province number three. This research is a mixed method (explanatory sequential design) using survey questionnaire to collect quantitative data from the representatives of 353 primary cooperatives, and in-depth interview to collect qualitative data from the representatives of 10 primary cooperatives. The direct influence of good governance on financial performance has been carried out by testing one main hypothesis and five sub-hypotheses using linear regression to analyze the data.
The research findings showed that 1) Good governance has a statistically significant, positive and direct influence on the financial performance of savings and credit cooperatives in the area of study. 2) Participation has not only a statistically significant but also positive and direct influence on financial performance of savings and credit cooperatives. 3) Accountability has not only a statistically significant but also positive and direct influence on financial performance of savings and credit cooperatives. 4) There is a statistically significant, positive and direct influence of transparency on financial performance of savings and credit cooperatives. The research findings from qualitative data revealed that there is lack of cooperative friendly policies, act and regulations in Nepal in the context of legitimacy. Similarly, professionalization does not work well due to nepotism, favoritism and political pressure.
It is concluded that the cooperatives should enhance participation, accountability and transparency if they want to increase their performance because they are not only significant but also positive panacea for the performance.Curricular : BBA/MBA/PhDM Record link: http://libsearch.siu.ac.th/siu/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=27934 SIU Thesis. Slow tourism,
Samut Prakan ProvincAbstract: Thailand’s economy has in recent years been sustainable thanks to the dramatic growth of the tourism industry both domestically and internationally. When deeper looking into domestic and slow tourism more analytically, it is found that the number of the Thai tourists travel increase significantly since 10 years ago as well. With one of Thailand’s societal dimensions, the senior population have been rising obviously due to the factors of dramatic improvements in health care and Thailand’s life expectancy expansion meaning female and male people living longer up to average 80 years and 85 years respectively.
The purposes of this research focuses on the perspectives on slow tourism in particular, by surveying viewpoints of both tourism entrepreneurs and Thai senior tourists visiting Samut Prakarn Province, Thailand. In particular, the study pins point the destinations of paid activities such as entry fee. There are three worldwide welknown places i.e. Crocodie Farm and Zoo, Acient Siam and Erawan Museum.
Also, the research aims to study and compare the relations of factors and opinions of tourism entrepreneurs and Thai senior tourists.
Both the qualitative and quantitative approaches are employed in this study. Regarding the research instruments, for qualitative approach, the depth interviews are conducted with 15 tourism entrepreneurs, whereas, for quantitative approach, 400 questionnaire are distributed to Thai senior tourists visiting Samut Prakarn Province. Telecom Billing SystemsAbstract: It is our assertion that characteristic properties of Telecommunications Billing Systems (TBS) cause several distinct problems for telecom industry, while magnifying those of a more “traditional nature”. Their intrinsic complexity and platform limitations, combined with project management shortfalls and limited implementation capabilities (relatively few TBS are deployed each year) mean that incidents of failure are high. Understanding the determinants of success would help telecom companies to leverage and control such factors, and thereby reduce incidents of TBS implementation failures. This study therefore has two objectives: first to empirically validate an established conceptual model for IS success (developed by Delone & Mclean) in a TBS context; specifically, we applied Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) techniques to validate the model using data obtained from key informants from several telecom service providers. We then prioritize our technical findings from the study, with a view to more targeted use of billing and revenue resources.
The findings show that 6 dimensions of Delone & Mclean Information System Success (D&M) model can be applied for TBS measurement while 7 out of 9 inter-relationship have significantly to each other. Moreover, the results show that user satisfaction and service quality are key contributors to the TBS success for organization benefit view. Our contributions to knowledge are to validate the D&M model in aspect of organizational impact and to rank the success measures for TBS.Curricular : BSCS/MSIT/PhDT Record link: http://libsearch.siu.ac.th/siu/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=27965 SIU Thesis. Education AnalyticsAbstract: The objectives of the study were to 1) identify the needs of e-SEM enrollment management system as a road map for achieving specific institutional goals, 2) develop an e-SEM enrollment management system as a proposed prototype for Lampang Rajabhat University or LRU, and 3) determine the effectiveness of the e-SEM enrollment prototype for the LRU specific institutional goals. This study was based on a mixed-method design. The population in this study was 400 administrators, officials, and academic staff of LRU. The samples drawn from the population by the sample calculation of Krejcie and Morgan consisted of 200 administrators and staff. The instruments for data elicitation in this study included two 5-scale evaluation questionnaires, one for identifying the needs of e-SEM enrollment management system and the other for assessing the prototype (namely Student Recruitment Management and Attendance Questionnaire and Questionnaire for Assessing the Efficiency of Prototype of the Student Enrollment Management Activities in Tracking System), an in-depth interview and a visual studio. The questionnaires had been constructed in response to the objectives of the study and then were sent to five judges for the content validity check. The value of the IOC was 0.98. The questionnaire of the needs was sent to 30 respondents for a reliability check, and the value of Cronbach's Alpha Coefficient was 0.971. The data were then qualitatively and qualitatively analyzed to conclude the study.
The study revealed these significant findings. First, for the needs of the e-SEM enrollment management system as a road map for achieving specific institutional goals, the majority of the respondents’ opinions were high in all these areas, including 1) the implementation of e-SEM for the success of student recruitment; 2) the services provided by the agencies in the areas of recruitment selection of students, guidance, and registration. 3) the executing strategy and SEM strategy; 4) the executing tactics and SEM strategy; 5) using digital marketing techniques in recruiting students from target groups; 6) factors to support the success of SEM. Also, on the duration of SEM target evaluation after approval of execution, they agreed that the system could be useful for short-term and medium-term goals. Second, the features of the developed e-SEM enrollment management system as a prototype for LRU, Student Enrollment Activities Tracking System, could be classified into three parts: 1) the SEM process, 2) the system development, and 3) the SEM workflow system. The SEM process consists of these thirteen procedures: 1) Traditional Marketing (UI1), 2) Digital Marketing (UI2), 3) Marketing Lead (ML), 4) Qualified Market Lead (QML ), 5) Sale Lead (SL), 6) Qualified Sale Lead (QSL), 7) Guidance (UI7), 8) Close sale (UI8), 9) Registration (UI9), 10) Payment (UI10), 11) Commencement orientation (UI11), 12) Graduation (UI12) and 13) Alumni (UI13). The SEM process management system consists of eleven procedures: 1) regular marketing, 2) digital marketing, 3) overall marketing, 4) sales, 5) closing sales, 6) guidance, 7) registration tracking, 8) financial monitoring, 9) orientation tracking, 10) tracking graduation and 11) alumni. The software system for SEM management uses a mechanism to alert with the five rules of the notification as follows: 1) notifications, 2) notifications rules for executives, 3) notification rules for activity, 4) SEM education analytics, and 5) definition of SEM data. The SEM data included twenty steps: 1) set goals, 2) define original activities, 3) follow up the activities, 4) marketing lead, 5) designate digital marketing activities, 6) follow the digital marketing activity, 7) digital marketing lead on digital marketing, 8) inclusive marketing lead, 9) quality ML, 10) incubate total ML, 11) forward QML to sales lead, 12) qualified sale lead, 13) close sales activities, 14) guidance, 15) registration, 16) incubation, 17) payment, 18) orientation, 19) conferring a degree and 20) alumni. The evaluation of the proposed prototype was high in all areas: functional requirement evolution, function evolution, usability evolution, security evolution, an overview of usage. Lastly, the results of the proposed e-SEM enrollment prototype assessment were high in all five aspects: 1) defining user ID and password for checking the users of the system (4.82), 2) usefulness for operations and data usage (4.72), 3) overall performance on the user's usage (4.60), 4) accuracy of the results from the processing (4.58), and 5) provision of continuous and stable service always ready to use (4.50) respectively.
As a result of the findings mentioned above, three suggestions for further study are offered: 1) a wide variety of research tools should be added for data collection to get in-depth data. 2) a future study should investigate the opinions of recipients of the service and stakeholders of the university in order to obtain comprehensive information that will lead to a more insightful picture of the study in this area. 3) future research and development should move forward to the use of the system through a variety of portable devices to support management on various platforms such as Android, iOS, Windows, macOS, and BlackBerry.Curricular : BSCS/MSIT/PhDT Record link: http://libsearch.siu.ac.th/siu/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=27966 SIU Thesis. Logistics and transportation for power transformer.Abstract: In transportation of heavyweight and oversized cargo, e.g. 100 tons Power Transformer, from the factory to a final destination can be a complicated task which involves planning, transporting, and arrival unloading and installing processes. This research developed a new end-to-end logistic management algorithm, HOCTA, supporting the transportation of heavyweight and oversized shipment in the context of time, location personals, communication and the business regulations involved from the process of disassembling, routing survey, shipment preparation, real-time management of transport to the destination, unloading and assembling the transformer. This logistic management system is to help reduce the mistakes preparation and execution. The architecture and the HOCTA software support the process planning and monitoring the travel on main route, providing context information to avoid obstacle during the transport.
Traffic condition, thieves and coordination between the point of origin and destination. In the event that the unforeseeable circumstance occurred, secondary route will be taken. The context will provide useful information for the shipper in decision making whether to use the original or secondary route and once the shipment has reached the destination, the business rules and regulation involved during the inspection, the process of unloading shipments, storage and the supervision of installation process according to the company standards.Curricular : BSCS/MSIT/PhDT Record link: http://libsearch.siu.ac.th/siu/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=27967 SIU Thesis.
