Government ManagementAbstract: The paper evaluates the effectiveness of recent initiatives introduced by the Royal Thai Government proliferate Broadband services in Thailand. With globalization, the society is constantly changing resulting by information technology and Internet access to play an important role in communication, social, political, economic or even environmental. Because of the rapid-technological advancement, it causes that many countries moving up their focus on developing infrastructure to enhance the information technology and innovation. The data transmission not only text messages but also pictures such as VDO conference is important to make use of information technology is faster and more efficient. The perception is very convenient and fast and hence requires a good core broadband infrastructure. The role of Information and Communication Technology infrastructure (ICT infrastructure) enables leaders on governments’ decision based on the real time and reliable information. Of course, the government leaders in many countries realized that the quality and performance on ICT infrastructure would directly affect developing countries. In order to monitor the countries in the crisis situation, the stable and qualified network is required which the government called as S-M-A-R-T network.
Under ICT2020 Policy Framework and Broadband Policy, Ministry of ICT accelerates connected S-M-A-R-T network to develop ICT infrastructure in Thailand recently. On another hand, Thailand economy is also important mechanism for strengthening competitiveness. The new business opportunities with many other countries have defined a policy and planning in developing Broadband seriously and continuously. In this paper, the study identifies the policies and plans of development and building broadband infrastructure of the leaders in the development of broadband top of the world, including Japan, South Korea, Singapore, The United States, Australia and Sweden, a country that have a clear policy and plan development. The projects initiated and measures taken by the Government of Thailand in the broadband sector have been studied. The information has been gathered by interacting with the executive officers of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC), Ministry of Information Communication and Technology, Thailand, from interviewing the officers of government departments: Ministry of Education (MOE), Ministry of Public Health (MOH) and etc.
In fact, there are many countries deploying their National ICT including broadband policy framework and Thailand would learn from them. Although business and social environment of those countries are difference, but some can be applied to align with the Thai’s current situation. Sharing common vision about national broadband roadmap and related development to fulfill the realistic National ICT policy are needed from key stakeholders such as a Ministry, a telecom regulator, and organizations that are in charge of economic development.
Finally, success in qualified National ICT policy implementation, the government needs to impose precedence in network infrastructure and relating parts as priority to ensure that the plan can be transformed to action plan effectively. In this study, the researcher also found that providing the obvious network infrastructure plan and implementation would influence further developments in ICT related activities such as IT security, business applications, increasing of Internet penetration rate as well as technology adoption in real sectors in the country.
In conclusion, the desirable strategy and plan should be taken by key stakeholders (as mentioned in this study) to meet with “Government Management”. It means that the government has to keep monitoring and evaluating it seriously. With this study, the researcher found that not only technological adoption, but also a result of compliance the prior plan and then release to achieve consistently is a major success of plan implementation. Like Japan and Korea, they are superior examples for Thailand to improve and develop their government managing system.

Hotel brand equityAbstract: The research has been conducted to analyze the factors that impact the customer-based brand equity in the context of the star hotels in Nepal and to examine the level of impact of the independent variables: brand awareness, brand loyalty, brand image and perceived quality on the dependent variable: customer-based brand equity of star hotels in Nepal. The research was conducted using a mixed method utilizing both quantitative and qualitative method. For the quantitative method a sample of 380 customers from four different star categorized hotels were taken from the capital of the country. Convenient sampling method was used for the study. The research study is completed using a blend of descriptive and comparative research design. Moreover, for the qualitative method a semi- structured interview was conducted among the senior marketing managers of selected 4 different hotels and the thematic analysis was done. The data collection instrument used in the research were the 5 point Likert scale questionnaires and the semi-structured interview. Correlation analysis and regression analysis was done to test the hypothesis. It was found that there was positive significant relationship between brand loyalty, brand image and perceived quality, and customer based brand equity. However, brand awareness did not show significant causal relationship with customer based brand equity. It was also found that all the sample hotels have been following various branding activities and campaigns like mass media promotion, specialized agencies, partnering up, providing discounts and value-added promotional activities, to promote their brand in the market. This study examines competitiveness challenges of Thai export-oriented garment industry by testing the research hypotheses and develops data-driven innovation framework as a sustainable competitive advantage by using constructivist grounded theory. The bases of this study lie in understanding what kind of competitiveness challenges Tai exported-oriented garment industry faces in terms of resource-based, dynamic capabilities and market-based factors. In this study, a purposeful sample of 211 garment sectors was drawn from total 359. Study participants were garment managers, in garment industry over 5 years. The data collection includes questionnaire investigation for quantitative factor analysis method and intensive interview with garment senior managers for qualitative analysis approach. Specifically, this study provides empirical evidence both quantitative and qualitative on the specific channels and mechanisms through how data-driven innovation process is facilitated within current garment sectors.
This study found that there was significant relationship between competitiveness and resource-based factors; dynamic capabilities factors and market-based factors in the export-oriented garment industry (i.e., challenges relates to productivity, lead-time, collaboration, opportunity identification, quick response and risk identification factors). Additionally, this study also found that data-driven innovation supported to Thai export-oriented garment industry overcomes competitiveness challenges.Curricular : BBA/MBA/PhDM Record link: http://libsearch.siu.ac.th/siu/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=27923 SIU Thesis. impacting on employee retention and motivation to work for non-government
organizations (NGOs) in Thailand. This study aims to identify and discuss the factors
that attract and motivate people to work for non-government organizations (NGOs); to examine the contributions these people and their organizations make to civil society in Thailand; and to examine the significance that working for an NGO has on the
overall labor force of Thailand.
An in-depth interview was used to collect data from informants that are the people to work for NGOs in Thailand. A review of Thai run NGOs showed that they covered a wide spectrum of activities, and ranged in size from small to quite large
organizations, many with a lengthy history of operation. Eighty informants were selected from a cross-section of organizations that reflected the group as a whole.Informants were selected from both the managerial level as well as the operational
level. The sample size was logically and statistically determined with reference to the objectives and scope of the study. The in-depth interviews revealed that NGOs were providing many nonfinancial
benefits to society, including: leadership experience, self-actualization,
social inclusion, self-esteem, and a feeling of contributing to the larger society.Informants stated that their motivation for working with an NGO included: financial benefits, skills development, and a strong belief in the philosophy of the NGO they were working with. Employee retention depends on NGO managers working with their employees to manage these expectations for their mutual benefit. The employee workings in a non-government organization (NGOs) has value addedinto the rational alternative to encourage the increase in manpower for nongovernment organization (NGOs) sector in Thailand. In order to solve problem in the policy level therefore, most of the NGOs in Thailand are working in parallel on both the community level

Balanced scorecard (BSC)Abstract: The main purpose of the research is to determine the critical performance that the first tier suppliers should focus on. The performances are structured from the coarser level to the more detailed level as performance elements, performance indicators, and performance attributes. Eighty-eight performance attributes related to the first tier suppliers in the Thai automotive supply chain are determined. They focused on intangible elements (namely learning and growth, internal process, external structure) and “business performance” element. The critical factor index (CFI) method is used for determining the critical attributes. The results were analyzed from the viewpoints of overall responses and three separate management functional groups; namely top management, factory managers, and sales/marketing managers. The results reveal both similarities and differences in critical performance attributes in different key functional areas. “Trust” and “business performance” performance elements are found to be the most critical and should be focused on first. In the “trust” performance element, the largest number of critical performance attributes are found in the “professional-relationship” performance indicator, which is the trust between firm’s representatives and customers’ representatives. The integrated strategy map, derived from the information on critical performance attributes, is proposed for showing the linkages among the critical attributes. In Thailand, higher education increasingly plays an essential role in enabling greater opportunities for growth and attractiveness to foreign investment. For the Thais, in order to secure good employment position, studying abroad is a popular choice. It is a passport to a better employment opportunity and a relatively higher social status, despite the relatively higher cost and personal insecurity concerning living away from home. Moreover, studying abroad is an effective way of gaining English proficiency. The ability to read and write English is an asset for people in Thailand or any Asian countries. Having knowledge about Western cultures through living in a particular country is a worthwhile experience. There are a lot of Thai students wish to study the graduate degrees in the UK and the US. They have various choice to choose and many decisions to make. Understanding the needs and wants of the students or the demand side as well as the ability to give education as a service product or the supply side, a better arrangement can be planned. Based on the study results, alternatives to studying abroad, such as newer and better study programs in Thailand that suit students’ needs at more reasonable costs may be brought in to consideration.
This paper discusses the determinants of students in higher education from Thailand to study in the United Kingdom (UK) and the United States of America (US) as the two of the most popular countries among all international students, with the best globally recognized education systems. Various study abroad perspective were discussed and also toward other study destinations i.e. Australia, Canada, New Zealand and Thailand itself. The possible effects of the UK and US marketing strategies to recruit students in Thailand and related factors influencing decision of the students are brought in to discuss. A questionnaire interview was carried out on students and alumni from Thailand who had chosen to study in the UK or the US including observations from education service agents, higher education institutes representatives from the UK and US, and prospective Thai students seeking for education in the UK and US.
The questionnaire shown interesting perspective toward the students’ choice of education, university selection, sensitivity to price, and length of time spent, for example. The majority of the education service agents is maintaining the good level of effort in recruiting Thai students for both the UK and the US universities. The business is unpredictable due to the change of uncontrollable factors but the agent strongly believe there is huge demand for study abroad. Most of the stakeholders agreed that there are opportunities for the growth of international education in Thailand, also pathways for developments. However, the quality improvement and the cost reduction may need to be in account. . The HEIs will gain various opportunities for international education in the student source countries including Thailand as a geographical center of ASEAN is likely to benefit for the growth of international education. Even though, the group of students went to study abroad will not opt to study international program in the country. Statistic data shows the positive grow of student in the program as well. International education in Thailand is growing. Therefore, to maintain the present level of effort in recruiting students to the UK and the US is up to the HEIs in Thailand, the HEIs in the UK, the education agents, and the Commission on Higher Education, Thailand to consider their strategies to cope with this growth.Curricular : BBA/GE/MBA/PhDM Record link: http://libsearch.siu.ac.th/siu/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=26769 SIU Thesis.
